SHE'S GOING THROUGH SOME CHANGES

she's been looking thru magazines
for a new style for her hair
paging thru catalogs
for something new to wear
it made this ol' boy nervous
that i might be on some list
she says some thing are worth keeping
then seals it with a kiss

   she's going through some changes
   going through her things
   only hanging on to what she wants
   for the pleasure that it brings
   as she rearranges
   i thank my lucky stars
   despite all the changes
   she hasn't had.. a change of heart

she's traded out the furniture
hung new pictures on the wall
there's a brand new pair of puppies
prancing up and down the hall
the air smells of jasmine
there's jazz on the radio
what's next to be upended
heaven only knows
